Forever and NeverWith fingers intertwined and hearts crossed Swears and promises up and down the ladders We ignore the underlying beast So stealthy and quiet Every second we spend it stalks closer The ruiner time Because we both know what is to come the inevitable end the sleep into night drifting away from another love bonds with foresight dread the stress of distance words like, college oh so dreadful So sitting there fingers woven together as though we were conjoined taking every moment for granted Living for the now As I slip into tomorrForever and Never
Job -not the one in the bible-When that thing called age Finally catches up to you It wields a huge gigantic weapon It is called... work It hurts and lashes you But how could that be? I spent most of my youth dreaming and hoping for that day when I could roll in the cash I started mowing lawns delivering papers but when I found that one that was steady it was really a nightmare atrocities of stolen youth the winds of the hours you spend there wear on friendships bear on other endevours music, games, even sleep become only close seconds to.... I keep it locked from all the sin, yet my faith is growing thin.
This little heart of worn-off paint marks the rank of a lonely saint.
The metallic click of the little lock stops the hands on the eternal clock.
My heart-shaped bondage slowly falls as the voice of a stranger lovingly calls.
I pick up my heart before I stand and place it in his gentle hand.
He unclips his own and hands it to me, I guess this restraint is more like a key...
